Sheep Importation for Eid
The first ship arrived at the Port of Oran on April 26, 2025, and docked the same day at 06:00. The ship, coming from Spain, was carrying approximately 12,967 heads of sheep. The ship's docking took place in the presence of the Secretary General of the Ministry of Transport, the Director of Ports, the representative of the Wali of Oran, as well as the directors of Transport, Trade, and Agriculture, the General Director of the Oran Port Company, and various regional and local officials. To ensure optimal livestock reception in compliance with health and safety standards, the Port of Oran has deployed significant logistical and technical resources. The Port of Oran is also preparing to welcome several other ships in the coming days. The Oran Port Company is committed to mobilizing all human and material resources to successfully carry out this important operation of receiving ships and unloading all the sheep heads destined for Eid al-Adha expected at the Port of Oran.
