Port of Oran… Efficient logistics operations
As part of the implementation of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s programme to import one million head of livestock in preparation for Eid al-Adha, and in accordance with the instructions of Mr Saïd Saïoud, Minister of the Interior, Local Authorities and Urban Planning and Minister of Transport, aimed at ensuring the optimal handling of ships and expediting the processing of strategic goods, the Port of Oran Authority welcomed this morning the two vessels ‘Al-Farouq’ and ‘Karim Allah’, loaded with livestock imported from Romania, at Quay No. 08 (Quai de Sénégal) and Quay No. 19 (Quai de Gabès) This operation demonstrates the high operational readiness of the Port of Oran and its ability to support major national programmes, through the mobilisation of all logistical resources and human resources, and the provision of appropriate conditions to ensure the rapid and safe handling of this shipment. The operation was carried out in close coordination with the various stakeholders in the port system, with strict adherence to the applicable regulatory procedures and health and veterinary standards, thereby ensuring the safety of the herd and compliance with the approved control measures. Through this operation, the Port of Oran Authority reaffirms its ongoing commitment to implementing the instructions of the country’s highest authorities and its determination to strengthen its role as a strategic logistics hub serving the national economy and supporting supply chains.
